Converting a Military Helicopter Helmet for Civilian Helicopter use is very easy. Military and civilian radios and intercomms operate on different impedances, but the both military and civilian helicopters use the same U-174 plug on the helmet cable. This means that military helicopter helmet cables are compatible in civilian helicopters. That just leaves the microphone and earphones that need to be converted.
