USMC Camo Cover - 1980's
We sell flight helmet covers like these! Click here!

These covers are worn ONLY by USMC pilots. The purpose is to signify that the pilot was a "ground pounder" first. Marine Corps pilots must serve at least a year in the infantry before they are eligible to fly. The logic being: there will be a bond between the guys on the ground and the pilots/ officers; the pilots will know what the guys on the ground are going through. The cover can be found in desert camo or in woodland camo. They are made out of standard ground troop helmet covers and are custom fitted to each helmet. I sincerely apologize to all Marine Corps pilots for the mistake.
The desert storm color helmet covers are affectionately referred to as "Chocolate Chip Cookies."
