TopTex 3AM - Late 1950's | ||||||||
|
Made by Protection, Inc. Division of Mine Safety Appliance Company. The 3AM was used mostly by test pilots flying in the 1960s and 70s, along with the USAF Thunderbirds flying F100D Super Sabres in 1959. Very similar to the P-4B, this helmet does not use a chin strap and has a different type of visor locking system. This TopTex has full leather interior and hardman receivers. Also notable is the leather trim at the end of the visor track. |
